On January 30th, JV Zeravshan LLC received the honor of “2014 Advanced Corporate in Preventive Consular Protection” from Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Tajikistan for two consecutive years.


On February 16th, Zijin Mining Group released its preliminary 2014 Annual Results. In 2014, the Group realized operating income of RMB58.76 billion, representing an increase of 18.06% year on year; net profit attributable to the parent was RMB2.35 billion, representing an increase of 10.34% YOY.


On March 23rd, Sharp Hero Developments Limited , Zijin’s wholly-owned subsidiary acquired 76,817,020 A category ordinary shares of Ivanhoe Mines Limited at price of C$1.36 per share or C$104 million (equivalent to RMB506 million) in total.


On May 5th, La Compagnie Minière de Musonoie Global SAS’s Kolwezi Copper mine started on site construction.

On May 7th, “2015 Forbes Global 2000 Companies” was released, ranking 1069th, Zijin was the only Chinese gold company on the list. 

On May 26th, Zijin signed an agreement respectively with Ivanhoe Mines Ltd and Barrick Gold Corp, acquired 49.5% stake of Kamoa copper project in DR Congo from Ivanhoe and 47.5% stake of Porgera gold mine from Barrick, the total price for the purchases are USD412 million and USD298 million respectively.


On June 25th, the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the commercial production of Kyzyl Tashtyg Polymetallic mine was held in Tuva, Russia. Sholban Kara-ool, Chairman of Republic of Tuva, Russia, attended the ceremony.


On July 8th, “2015 Fortune China 500 Companies” was released, Zijin ranked 106th on the list.


On July 29th, Altynken LLC’s Taldybulak Levoberezhny gold mine in Kyrgyzstan held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate its trial production. Temir Sariyev, Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan attended the ceremony. 


On August 6th, Zijin Mining Group’s wholly-owned subsidiary Norton Gold Fields announced to acquireall the issued shares in Phoenix Gold Limited at price of A$0.10 per share or A$45 million (equivalent to RMB205 million) in total.


On September 2nd, Mr. Chen Jinghe met with Tajikistan President Rakhmonov in Diaoyutai State Guesthouse, Beijing, during President Rakhmonov’s attendance in “70th Anniversary of Victory in World Anti-Fascist War” celebration.


On September 25th, Zijin as the first company, was given the qualification by the People’s Bank of China to import gold, changing the practice that only financial institutions can import gold in China.


On October 18th, Jilau’s ore-processing plant, owned by Zeravshan Gold Co., Ltd, held the ribbon cutting ceremony for its commercial production. Tajikistan President Rakhmonov attended the ceremony.


On October 22nd, the first “Fortune China Listed Companies Award” ceremony was held in Xiamen. Zijin was awarded third prize of listed companies’ “Best Return on Investment” in 2015.


On Novermber 6th, Joseph Kabila, President of Democratic Republic of Congo, held talks with Zijin’s Chairman Chen Jinghe in Kinshasa, exchanging ideas on Zijin’s mineral resources investment and development in the DRC.


On December 4th, Zijin was awarded the honor of “Philanthropic Model • Best Corporate”. Zijin’s Supporting Program for the Elder and the Young in Shanghang County was awarded one of the 50 Best Philanthropic Programs in 2015 (fourstarr).

On December 11th, Zijin’s 200,000 tonnes copper smelter received the honor of China’s “Water and Soil Conservation & Ecological Civilization Project”
