  • Project Overview

After Zijin Mining became the operator of the project, the mine’s quantity of ore mined per day was increased to 25,000 tonnes through 3 large debottlenecking and expansion programs. Its gold and copper resources that are economically viable for extraction grew by 40 times, allowing the project to generate high profits from the processing of low-grade resources. In 2007, it received the Excellent Geological Exploration Award from the former Ministry of Land and Resources (MLR) of China. In 2006, it won the Leading Mining Company Award from the former MLR for its effective extraction and efficient utilization of mineral resources.

  • ESG

While achieving its own growth, the project works to fulfill the mission of Mining for a Better Society, operates in compliance with laws and regulations, and has fostered a harmonious working environment. It has helped improve the living standards of its employees and provides assistance to them and their families in terms of housing, health care, and schooling.

The project implements extensive environmental management and land reclamation programs, and actively protects and manages biodiversity throughout the life of the mine. In 2021, It launched research initiatives in collaboration with prestigious universities in Jilin Province with the aim of supporting biodiversity conservation. These efforts include biodiversity surveys in both its mine site and surrounding areas, assessing the impact of mine development on the ecosystems and environment in nearby areas, sharing information on wild flora and fauna, among other endeavors.
