Zijin Mining Ranks among Top 7% miners in S&P Global ESG Scores

Zijin Mining, a major global metals mining group, has scored 64 in the 2023 ESG Scores of S&P Global, a leading global rating agency. The score marks a 10-point increase from last year and puts the company among the top 7% in the global mining sector.

The ranking indicates that Zijin Mining has joined the top tier of the sector in Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) performance. The company has markedly exceeded the global metals mining industry’s average scores across all three dimensions, with its environmental score nearing the highest levels.

Zijin Mining has been honored with prestigious ESG awards as well, such as the 2023 Hong Kong ESG Reporting Award (HERA) and the accountancy firm BDO’s Award of Outstanding ESG Performance of H-share Companies. These accolades signify the Hong Kong capital market’s recognition of Zijin’s ESG policies and practices.
