August 28 – Zijin today announced a donation of RMB 10 million to support disaster relief efforts in Gyirong County, Xigaze, Xizang, following a devastating mudslide on August 26. The funds will be used for emergency rescue operations, temporary shelter for affected residents, and reconstruction in the disaster-hit areas.

The mudslide, which originated from the Nepalese side of the border, struck the Gyirong border port at approximately 10:30 AM on August 26, resulting in significant casualties and people reported missing. Search and rescue efforts are currently well underway.

Zijin is closely monitoring the evolving situation. The company will work alongside all sectors of society to contribute to the region’s reconstruction and recovery, and help the affected communities weather this difficult period.
