Kyrgyz Prime Minister Akylbek Japarov Meets with Zijin’s Delegation

On June 5, Kyrgyz Prime Minister Akylbek Japarov and Finance Minister Almaz Baketaev met separately with Mr. Que Chaoyang, Vice President of Zijin Mining, in Bishkek.

Prime Minister Japarov extended a warm welcome to Mr. Que. He acknowledged the achievements of Altynken LLC, a subsidiary of Zijin Mining, in compliance with laws and regulations, environmental protection and community development. He emphasized the need to share Altynken’s experience as a successful example of Sino-Kyrgyz cooperation. He also said that as Zijin operates and grows in the mining sector in Kyrgyzstan, he will provide Zijin with continued support and is ready to work with Zijin to build modern, green, and sustainable mines to higher standards.

Alamaz Baketaev, Minister of Finance, said that he will provide strong support for Zijin and Altynken LLC, to ensure that their operations are in full compliance with laws and regulations. Minister Baketaev also reiterated his commitment to fostering a favorable investment and business environment for companies, in order to achieve growth for both the country and businesses.

At the Astana Mining & Metallurgy Congress, Melis Turgunbaev, Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of Kyrgyzstan, also met with Zijin’s delegation. He thanked Zijin for its significant contribution to the economic development of Kyrgyzstan and praised Altynken LLC for its approach to production and operations and the processes and technologies it uses.

During its visit to Kyrgyzstan, Zijin Mining’s delegation also signed a memorandum of cooperation with state-owned gold miner Kyrgyzaltyn JSC. According to the memorandum, the two companies will establish a strategic partnership and strengthen their cooperation in the field of mining.
