  • Project Overview

    The Bisha copper-zinc mine is the largest producing zinc operation in Eritrea, extracting 2.9 million tonnes of ore per annum.

  • Debottlenecking and Expansion

    In 2025, the operation completed pre-stripping works for the Hambok open pit and started ore extraction, while the Asheli underground mine also commenced production. Engineering and preparatory work for construction are underway for the Harena underground mine.

  • M&A

    Zijin Mining completed the acquisition of a 60% interest in the Bisha copper-zinc mine in 2019. Currently, it holds a 55% interest in the operation, while the Eritrean National Mining Corporation (ENAMCO) holds the remaining 45%.
