    Zijin Mining acquired 100% ownership of Nkwe Platinum through two acquisitions in 2015 and 2019. Nkwe Platinum holds a 74% interest in the Garatau PGM Mine, while the remaining 26% is owned by Genorah, a South African Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) company.

ESG

The project promotes inclusive and sustainable development in the region by implementing local economic and human resource development plans and making social investments and community donations. Initiatives include skills training and adult education for local residents, financial aid for university students, drinking water projects, and the construction of community roads. Additionally, the project sponsored the first youth football tournament in Garatau, South Africa.
