Ten Big Events of Zijin in 2014
1. On Feb 8th, during the Company Strategy Seminar , Zijin Mining Group Co.,Ltd(“Zijin”or“the Company”) put forward the company strategy which were summarized as Internationalization, Large-scale project and Asset Securitization, confirmed the investment focus on gold and copper, and established the goal of turning the Company into a global leading mining company by 2030.
2. In 2014, at the backdrop of sharp price drop in main mineral products, Zijin realized a double-digit increase in net profit, reversing the situation of negative net profit growth in the past two consecutive years.
3. In the afternoon of Sep 14th, Chinese President Xi Jingping met with Chen Jinghe, Chairman of Zijin, and representatives from Chinese companies and institutions in Tajikistan during his state visit in Tajikistan.
4.On Mar 24, Zhang Dejiang, member of the Standing Committee of Political Bureau, and Chairman of the NPC Standing Committee, paid a visit to Zijin, bringing about great encouragement to the staff.
5. In late 2014, Zijin Global Metal Exchange and Boshang Zijin Commodities Spot Trading E-commerce Company were set up in Shenzhen and Xiamen respectively, marking the combination of mining and finance by the Company.
6. In 2014, Zijin successfully acquired the Kolwezi copper mine project in the DR Congo and completed the subscription for 9.9% of equity interest in Pretium Resources Inc., a Canadian Company listed on Toronto Stock Exchange and the New York Stock Exchange, accelerating its overseas business.
7. Zijin launched the campaign across the Company with theme of “Responsibility First”, “Market-Orientation” ,“Value Creation” ,“Zero Death Rate and Zero Environmental Accident” became key words of 2014, pushing forward reform and improvement in group management.
8.The smelters of Zijin reduced losses by large scale,Zijin Copper Co.,Ltd realized a net profit of over 40 million Yuan.
9. A batch of major projects at home and abroad including Sanguikou Zinc Polymetallic Mine Project in Inner Mongolia, Wulagen Lead and Zinc Mine Project with technical renovation in Xinjiang Province, Tuva Multi-Metals Mine in Russia, Taldybulak Levoberezhny Gold Mine in Krygyzstan have been put into production, makeing great contributions to Company's sustainable development.
10.On 18th, April, Zijin Mining newly increased seven stated-level “Green Mines”. So far, ZIjin has got 9 Stated-level “Green Mines”.
