
Chinese Ambassador to South Africa Lin Songtian held meeting with Mr. Chen Jinghe, Chairman of Zijin Mining Group, in Johannesburg, South Africa. Known Zijin’s investments in African countries, H.E. Ambassador explained China’s policies in Africa to Mr. Chen and encouraged Zijin to have confidence and to accelerate the development pace in Africa, meanwhile, to promote the economic development in South Africa as well.
Mr. Chen Jinghe introduced Zijin's investments’ situation and asked Ambassador Lin for advice about Zijin's further development in Africa. Mr. Chen said Zijin would accelerate its development in Africa, and dedicate to realize the win-win result between Zijin and local communities.
Ambassador Lin is quite familiar with African countries' policies and investment risks, he said South Africa owns abundant resources, and China has made some progress in public security and labor issues in South Africa recently. He expected that Chinese miners, with the goal of mutual-benefit and win-win result, drive up local residents and labors' welfare level, and assist to implement poverty reduction and elimination.
