On May 19, COMMUS, a subsidiary of Zijin Mining in the Democratic Republic of Congo, donated $500,000 to areas affected by heavy rainfall and flooding in the South Kivu province of the country.

At the donation ceremony, LE BOUCLIER, an NGO, accepted the donation on behalf of the DRC government. Jean David, president of LE BOUCLIER, expressed his sincere gratitude to Zijin Mining and COMMUS. He said that the donation will be used for the recovery and reconstruction of the disaster-hit areas, to provide the public with such services as drinking water, health care, and sanitation.
