On August 2, the 2023 Fortune Global 500 list was released. Zijin Mining ranked No. 373 on the list, up 34 places from 2022.

Top 6 Listed Chinese Companies in ROE

The ranking is based on the revenues of companies. 142 Chinese businesses got on the list, maintaining China’s position as the top contributor of Fortune 500 companies. By net attributable profit, Zijin Mining ranked No. 231 globally, No.38 among Chinese companies, and No.23 among non-financial and non-real estate entities based in China. Its return on equity (ROE) ranked 6th among Chinese companies that made the list.

Global Nonferrous Metals and Mining Companies on the List

Among the 12 global metals and mining companies listed, Zijin ranked 6th globally and 1st among Chinese metals and mining businesses. BHP, Rio Tinto, and Glencore claimed the top three spots among global miners.

The combined revenue of the companies on this year’s Fortune Global 500 list reached a staggering 41 trillion dollars, an increase of 8.4% over the year 2022. The minimum revenue threshold for inclusion in the list has also risen from 28.6 billion to 30.9 billion dollars. However, due to the global economic downturn, the total net profit of these companies dropped by 6.5% year-on-year, to approximately 2.9 trillion dollars.
