Liex Supports Establishment of Clothing Factory in Local Communities
2023/10/16 10189

On September 22, Fiambalá, a town in Argentina, celebrated the establishment of TEXTIBALA, the town’s first garment factory with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The factory was opened with the support of Liex, Zijin Mining’s subsidiary in Argentina. Lin Hongying, Vice President of Zijin Mining, and Roxana Paulón, Mayor of Fiambalá, attended the ceremony.

During the event, Liex, a lithium producer based in Fiambalá, announced that its 3Q project plans to provide 200 new jobs in the coming two months, with priority given to local applicants. Notably, TEXTIBALA employs an entirely local workforce. Its establishment is not only a symbol of the strong partnership and shared development between Liex and the Fiambalá communities, but also a model of how mining companies can catalyze growth in other sectors.

Since Zijin Mining established its presence in Fiambalá in 2022, Liex has been acting to fulfill the purpose of Mining for a Better Society. It has donated more than 1.5 million US dollars for key community endeavors, from wineries and soccer events to educational infrastructure. In addition, it has created many job opportunities and offered skills training programs that helped improve the employability of residents in Fiambalá.
