Zijin Celebrates the New Year with Worldwide Stakeholders

As we usher in the new year, Zijin’s operations across the world held festive celebrations, which brought together employees, community members, and other stakeholders.

In the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), copper and cobalt miner COMMUS hosted a delightful open day for the children of its employees. Dressed in fine attire, with Christmas hats atop their heads, the kids visited the company and got a glimpse of what their parents do through a tour of the production facilities. Afterwards, the children enjoyed a Christmas feast at COMMUS, which was prepared with love and care.

Cement and lime producer CARRILU in the DRC played host to guests from the Lualaba Chamber of Commerce, its partners, and shareholder representatives. A joyous atmosphere prevailed on the occasion, with wishes of prosperity and success exchanged.

 



Serbia Zijin Copper marked the New Year with a Zijin Scholarship award ceremony at the Bor Electromechanical Engineering School. During the week, similar Zijin Scholarship ceremonies were held in 11 schools in the Bor region, offering strong support to local education.

The company’s employees also visited charity organizations and neighboring communities, bringing along daily necessities and good wishes. Its Majdanpek operation presented elderly community members with flowers and gifts.

 

In the breathtaking landscapes of Kyrgyzstan, gold miner Altynken launched a heartwarming winter initiative, aimed at providing assistance to 120 underprivileged families, 145 orphans, and those with disabilities. The program kindled the spirit of compassion and delivered a message of hope to those in need. The Kemin District government joined in the initiative and commended Altynken for its business performance and contributions to the local communities. 


JV Zeravshan in Tajikistan, also a gold project, transformed into a hub of excitement as the company orchestrated several New Year activities. The company’s managers, dressed in festive attire, distributed New Year gifts to all employees, both Chinese and Tajik. Additionally, various sports activities were held to celebrate the new year. In an act of kindness, the company offered essential supplies such as flour and cooking oil to disadvantaged employees and needy residents.

 

In China’s Fujian Province, Zijin Copper, a smelter operator, showcased their enthusiasm through a delightful and engaging relay race, bringing together nearly 200 people from 18 teams, assembled from various plants and contractors. The event fostered a spirit of unity and camaraderie, leaving unforgettable memories for all participants.

 

Zijin Copper Foil, a materials producer also based in Fujian, epitomized the joy of the season with a sports event. A “Riding the Wind” Relay Race and a Flag Bearers’ Race elevated the festive atmosphere. Eighteen teams took part in the competitions, captivating the audience with a grand display of athleticism.

 


In Southern China’s Yunnan Province, Malipo Zijin Tungsten held a New Year’s gala. Guests from the local government, primary schools, health clinics, and other entities, as well as local communities attended the event, which drew an audience of more than 400.

 

In Inner Mongolia, Urad Rear Banner Zijin, a lead and zinc producer, hosted an evening gala in collaboration with other local organizations. Twenty-six captivating performances enthralled a crowd of nearly 300 attendees from various businesses.

 

In Qinghai Province, West Copper organized a New Year’s gala brimming with joyful moments. Dance performances, songs, poetry recitations, and musical renditions mesmerized the audience. Employees from both Qinghai Zijin and West Hotel were also invited to the gala, enjoying an evening of warmth and fraternity.
