Zijin Mining is aware of erroneous allegations leveled by the U.S. government (USG) against Xinjiang Habahe Ashele Copper Co., Ltd. (Ashele Copper), a partially owned subsidiary of our company, pertaining to Ashele Copper’s labor practices, claiming to have “reasonable cause” to believe accusations leveled by third-parties. We have been advised that at no time did the USG contact Ashele Copper to discuss any concerns and provide Ashele Copper with an opportunity to defend itself against these unfounded allegations. Notwithstanding this unfair treatment, we understand that Ashele Copper intends to demonstrate to the USG the error of its determination and we will support the effort. We are confident that Ashele Copper will succeed in this effort.
