Zijin Mining, a major global metals miner headquartered in China, has been recognized once again by the China Association for Public Companies (CAPCO) in its 2024 “Best Practices in Sustainable Development” for its exemplary initiative in circular economy. The initiative involves capturing and reusing industrial residual heat, effectively reducing energy consumption, protecting the environment, and boosting both output and profits.
Since 2021, CAPCO has been soliciting submissions of sustainable development practices. This year, a total of 596 entries were evaluated based on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) dimensions, with 135 recognized as outstanding.
ESG metrics are crucial indicators of corporate sustainability. In 2023, Zijin Mining’s entry, entitled “Zijin Mining’s Exploration of Coordinated Environmental and Economic Development”, was distinguished as one of the excellent case studies.
