Zijin Mining, in partnership with China’s Northeastern University, held a month-long training program focused on the management of electromechanical equipment. The program, conducted from October 21 to November 22, was the second of its kind in 2024 and brought together 28 key equipment management technicians from the company’s 21 projects based across the globe. As Zijin Mining continues to expand its business globally, the initiative is part of its efforts to recruit and train professionals with international competence in mining, mineral processing, and equipment management.
Participants studied four modules previously offered in the first program: the use and maintenance of mining and mineral processing equipment; company-specific equipment management practices; foundational electromechanical machinery theories; and equipment maintenance tutorials by manufacturers. They also gained hands-on experience from newly added sessions on Programmable Logic Controller programming and industrial automation, enabling them to combine theoretical study with practical applications.
During the training, participants also visited companies like Northern Heavy Industries, Siasun Robot, and BMW Brilliance Automotive to learn about both traditional and modern manufacturing processes.
Committed to putting value creators first, Zijin Mining strives to build a global talent pool by actively recruiting and nurturing professionals to address talent shortages faced across the mining industry. Focusing on international standards, the company has developed a comprehensive training system to enhance employee skills in various disciplines. This year, nearly 70 individuals have benefited from the two equipment management training programs. The courses, along with insightful case studies presented by participants, were recorded and shared on the company’s iLearning online training platform, facilitating continuous skill enhancement and career development for employees.
