On June 28, S&P Global, a global research and ratings agency with a focus on socially responsible investing, released its Sustainability Yearbook 2023 (China edition) in Shanghai. Zijin Mining was included in the inaugural China edition and was given the Best Improvement Award in the metals and mining sector.

The S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) team rigorously reviewed nearly 1,600 Chinese companies in 2022. Only the top 5% - 88 companies from 44 industries - were included in the Sustainability Yearbook 2023 (China Edition).

Zijin Mining’s S&P Global CSA score jumped from 37 points in 2021 to 54 points in 2022 (compared with the average score of 31 points for the metals and mining sector), a significant improvement for three consecutive years and placing the company in the top 12% among global mining companies.

S&P Global has been publishing the Sustainability Yearbook since 2008 with the aim of identifying and acknowledging companies across various industries that have achieved the highest S&P Global ESG scores based on the CSA. The Yearbook is highly recognized by international companies and stakeholders.

In recent years, Zijin Mining has made significant progress in optimizing its ESG management structure, developing ESG policies and frameworks, and improving the quality of information disclosure, leading to improvement in both its ESG performance and ratings. Zijin Mining has leading ESG ratings in China and its ratings given by mainstream international ratings agencies have been rising steadily.
