2024/05/22 6823

From April to May 2024, Zijin Mining’s subsidiary in Guyana – AGM Inc., or Aurora Gold Mine – organized a series of events to empower its female workforce. These initiatives, which included a Mother’s Day gathering, a seminar addressing divorce and domestic violence, and a workshop focusing on preventing sexual harassment, aimed to enhance female employees' personal and professional lives.

At the forefront of these events was a seminar addressing divorce and domestic violence. Here, the company’s legal department provided insights into Guyana’s divorce procedures and support policies. Moreover, the seminar equipped attendees with the knowledge to identify and respond to domestic violence, empowering them to defend their legitimate rights with the law.

A workshop against sexual harassment was also held. Through awareness-raising initiatives, the company underscored the principles of gender equality and mutual respect, enabling employees to recognize and protect themselves from sexual harassment.

Additionally, AGM held a special gathering in celebration of Mother’s Day. This event served as a heartfelt gesture of appreciation and recognition for the invaluable contributions of working mothers within the company.

Committed to supporting women in the workplace, Zijin Mining and AGM Inc. have been raising awareness of gender equality and family-related issues to cultivate a friendly, inclusive, and equal work environment.
