From April 14 to 18, 41 members of Zijin Mining’s 7th cohort of Outstanding Young Talent participated in a five-day leadership development program at Xiamen University.
Focused on practical skills and real-world application, the program was designed to build core management capabilities required to excel in today’s complex and ever-evolving business landscape. Sessions covered macroeconomic trends, risk management, media relations and crisis response in the digital era, as well as global strategic dynamics and regional security.
A standout feature of this year’s training was the introduction of an immersive corporate simulation module. Through immersive scenarios and team-based challenges, participants practiced strategic decision-making, crisis handling, and collaborative problem-solving—strengthening both individual leadership and team cohesion.
Dynamic case studies and multi-dimensional performance evaluations were also used to sharpen participants’ decision-making and problem-solving abilities in complex business settings—empowering participants to drive greater team effectiveness and operational excellence.
To build a strong pipeline of future leaders, Zijin Mining has developed a systematic training and development framework. The company has implemented a dual-track selection system for management and technical talent under 35, alongside a complete talent management process that covers selection, development, deployment, and retention, ensuring a structured approach to talent cultivation.
Since the program was launched in 2017, 265 employees have been selected as Outstanding Young Talents, with 149 earning promotions and 10 now serving as general managers at affiliated companies. These rising stars are now critical contributors to the company’s strategic goals, reinforcing Zijin Mining’s position as a global industry leader.
