January 11, 2026 — A five-member marathon team from Tajikistan, sponsored by Zijin’s Tajik gold-mining subsidiary Zeravshan, represented their capital Dushanbe at the 2026 Xiamen Marathon, where they achieved excellent results.
The team was invited by the event’s organizers and the Foreign Affairs Office of Xiamen. During their stay, they traveled to Shanghang County in western Fujian, Zijin’s birthplace, for more sports and cultural experiences. They toured two of the company’s flagship assets—Zijinshan Gold-Copper Mine and smelter operator Zijin Copper, and applauded Zijin for its modern mining operations. The team also visited local sports facilities and had discussions with sports officials from both Xiamen and Shanghang.
Mr. Guo Zhijun, Chinese Ambassador to Tajikistan, expressed his support, noting: “Such exchanges are vital for strengthening the friendship between our two countries, so we will continue to support them.”
In recent years, Zeravshan has actively fostered friendship between Xiamen and Dushanbe. In 2013, the two cities established a sister-city relationship with facilitation by Zijin and Zeravshan. In 2024, Zeravshan founded a gold and jewelry company in Dushanbe, extending the gold value chain in Tajikistan.
