Longyan, China, May 9, 2026—Zijin Longking, a Zijin subsidiary focused on clean energy and air pollution control, has delivered the first batch of its LK220E pure electric haul trucks. The company also signed a sales contract for its larger LK350E model at the same event. The milestone marked its progression from prototype roll-out to commercial mass delivery.
At the ceremony held at the company’s Intelligent Industrial Park, four LK220E trucks were ready for deployment to the Julong Copper Mine, which sits at an average elevation of 5,300 meters. Since February 2026, LK220E trucks have been in operation at the Zijinshan Gold-Copper Mine and Julong Copper Mine. Field data shows that each truck has consistently hauled over 2,000 tonnes per day, achieved an equipment availability above 90%, and cut energy consumption by more than 17% compared to similar products.
The trucks have also overcome the challenges of continuous heavy-duty operation in Julong’s high-altitude, frigid environment and steep slopes. The model fills a gap in the market for high-altitude, large-tonnage battery-electric dump trucks, delivering significant environmental and economic benefits.
Based on the LK220E’s proven reliability and performance, Julong Copper has signed an agreement with Zijin Longking to purchase the larger LK350E battery-electric trucks. As Zijin Longking’s next-generation flagship, the LK350E is purpose-built for intensive operations at ultra-large open-pit mines. It features a patented frame, a customized powertrain and range system, and core components built specifically for high altitudes. This setup enables it to perform reliably in harsh conditions — including high elevations, steep slopes, and heavy loads — while meeting the demands of round-the-clock, efficient operations.
Zijin Longking is accelerating the development of a full portfolio of mining equipment powered by renewable energy. Beyond the LK350E, the autonomous LK110EI intelligent truck is scheduled to roll off the production line within the year. The company plans to deepen its focus on mining applications, with electric mine trucks as the core product, supported by wind, solar, and hydropower generation, and energy storage systems. Its goal is to develop integrated solutions for mines encompassing renewable energy generation, storage, and mining equipment.
