On September 21st, Mr. Chen Jinghe, Chairman of Zijin Mining Group Co., Ltd (“Zijin”) met and held talks with Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda of Tajikistan during The Asia-Europe Expo in Urumchi. They conducted deep and friendly discussions on Zijin’s investments and development in Tajikistan.

Chairman Chen said the total investment of JV Zeravshan LLC (“ZGC”) by Zijin has reached approximately USD 400 million, and the total gold output since the investment by Zijin has reached over 16 tonnes. Currently ZGC is the largest gold producer, and one of the largest tax payer companies in Tajikistan. It has made great contributions to the increase of local fiscal revenue and the improvement of local people’s wellbeing. In addition, Chairman Chen sincerely hoped that Tajikistan Government could give more supports and benefits on ZGC’s taxes and power supply to help the company create better investment environment and achieve long-term sustainable development.

Speaking highly of the excellent performances Zijin has achieved in recent years of depression in mining industry, Kokhir Rasulzoda also extended his sincere gratitude to Zijin for its great contributions to local economic and social development. He said that with steady relationship between China and Tajikistan, Tajikistan Government would continue to attach great importance to Chinese enterprises, especially those key enterprises like ZGC, and make its efforts to solve those difficulties confronted together with ZGC during its development.
