After thorough negotiations, Zijin Mining's Colombian subsidiary, Continental Gold, recently signed the first agreement with the trade union. This agreement balances the company's sustainable development with the steady improvement of employee welfare.
The trade union representing Continental Gold's employees is part of Sintramienergética (the National Union of Workers in the Mining, Extractive, Petrochemical, Agrofuel and Energy Industries), one of the most influential unions in Colombia’s energy and mining sectors.
The Colombian Ministry of Labor has twice praised the signing of this agreement on its official social media account, describing it as a model for regional employment and economic development.
Continental Gold adheres to the principle of “Development for All” and has consistently prioritized the shared interests of the company and its employees during its growth. The company has formulated a systematic plan to steadily enhance employee welfare, establishing a stable relationship between the company and the trade union.
Despite disruptions caused by illegal miners in the first half of this year, Continental Gold’s Buriticá Gold Mine produced over 150,000 ounces of gold. The signing of this agreement is a win-win achievement that will benefit the employees while contributing to the company's future production targets.
