At the Julong Copper flotation workshop in Maizhokunggar County, Xizang Autonomous Region, China, Suolang Cizhen starts her productive day right after the morning toolbox meeting.
A local of the region, Suolang Cizhen joined Julong Copper after graduating from Tibet University. Over the past four years, she has progressed from a novice worker to the deputy director of the workshop, with a poised and resolute leadership style.
As one of Zijin Mining's first recruits, Suolang Cizhen has proudly seen many friends and former classmates join the company. "Working so close to home allows me to care for my family while fully committing to my career. It gives me extra motivation," she says.
Since taking over Julong Copper, Zijin Mining has focused on local employment and talent development. Currently, 1,046 local employees make up 52.8% of the workforce, with 37 in managerial roles.
To nurture local talent, Julong Copper launches the "Eagle Plan" every year to select outstanding local graduates. Additionally, over 100 employees are supported annually to attend the Zijin School of Geology and Mining at Fuzhou University, Fujian Province, for professional training.
The company has invested over 9 million yuan in local employee training, accounting for more than 90% of its total training budget. This investment has significantly improved employees' skills and laid a solid foundation for the company's sustainable development and long-term planning.
