Zijin Mining Recognized as China’s Model of Cultural and Ethical Excellence
2025/06/04 125

On May 23, Zijin Mining, a major global metals mining company, was named a “National Civilized Entity” at the National Conference Recognizing Cultural and Ethical Excellence in Beijing—marking its third consecutive win of this triennial government distinction.

One of China’s highest honors for institutional excellence, the designation recognizes organizations demonstrating leadership in ethical conduct, workplace culture, environmental stewardship, and social responsibility. Alongside the parent company’s recognition, two of its subsidiaries—Bayannur Zijin (for the second time) and Zijin Zinc (for the first time)—were also honored.

The distinction reflects Zijin’s commitment to ethical operations and sustainability. Within China, the company has received accolades such as the China Charity Award, Outstanding Responsible Company, 5A-Level Corporate Culture Certification, and Top 10 Community Partnership Entity.

Globally, it has consistently demonstrated leading ESG performance in the mining industry, as ranked by international rating agencies. The company’s global operations drive community development and sustainability programs every year across five continents. In March this year, Zijin’s two copper and gold mining subsidiaries in Serbia earned the prestigious “Captain Miša Anastasijević” award for their exceptional efforts in corporate social responsibility and sustainable development.

This ethical excellence parallels Zijin’s growing commercial strength: In 2024, it rose to 267th place on the Forbes Global 2000 list and ranked 364th on the Fortune Global 500.
